Jessica Alba dances around in cargo pants in 2003's Honey. If you're looking for a mild sedative, this might do the trick.
Alba plays Honey like a robot. She's a dancer, teaching at a community centre, hoping to steer troubled kids away from using and pushing drugs. Then, one day, a bigshot music video director spots her at a club and she finds herself working as choreographer to the stars.
Everything happens exactly as you might expect. Alba is pretty and something about her features is somehow evocative of honey. I got distracted reading the wikipedia entry on honey. It is weird that we eat bee spit.
Anyway. Everything looks very clean in this movie. No-one gets in big trouble, there's no sparkle to the dialogue, the sets and costumes look like a Target ad, all plain colours. The editing makes it look like Alba's a better dancer than she is. Alba's best friend, played by Joy Bryant, is really hot, especially in an early scene wearing a knit halter and micro-miniskirt. Even by early 2000s rap video standards, she looks like a hooker, but not in a bad way.
